EFT for Fear of Flying: Rhian’s Story
I recently worked with a lovely lady, Rhian, who came to me for help with her fear of flying.
She hadn’t wanted to fly for 20 years, and the few flights she had taken during that time had filled her with anxiety. She had struggled with physical sensations like nausea, feeling hot, and even feeling like she was about to have a panic attack.
She had a family holiday to Italy coming up and she really wanted to look forward to it, but instead, she felt completely overcome with dread about the flight.
Overcoming Flight Anxiety with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
During our session, we traced her fear back to an incident that had happened on a flight 20 years ago. Together, we gently tuned in to how she had felt at the time and used EFT to release the trauma held in her body and mind.
The result?
All the negative feelings and emotions connected to that memory were released and… she realised she was now feeling excited about her upcoming holiday!
This really surprised her — it was such a huge shift, and she hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly. (We were actually aiming for her simply to feel calm — feeling excited was an unexpected and very welcome bonus!)
She also told me she felt so much lighter, as though a huge weight had been lifted.
Flying Calmly and Confidently — A New Experience
After her trip, Rhian messaged me to say she’d had a wonderful holiday — and the flight had been absolutely fine! None of the horrible physical sensations that had troubled her before showed up this time.
Now that she is no longer held back by fear and anxiety, she’s free to book flights and holidays whenever and wherever she wants. Amazing! 🙌
